I'd say that's more than just "decent" - I admit, I'm jealous. ;p

If this is the catalyst that allows WorldScape to prosper, I support.

EDIT:

Below shows a very old picture with nostalgic properties..

You could create a noticeable platform used to display all community, game, and upcoming updates. We need some sort of catalyst for hype and I think this could help.

Honestly, this is a community-based game more than a content-based game. Speaking to the developers here, if you want to balance that out more, you need to add more addicting features to the game that aren't too difficult, tedious, or limited for us players to do, that way everyone can get involved. Because as of now, people really only played to socialize with eachother.

Sure you've added zombies, but that minigame is extremely difficult with the few amount of players that play at the moment, especially since the reset. Camp is good for everyone but it's the same thing over and over again and it gets quite old in my opinion. All skills are the same basic training methods that every server has. The few other minigames such as castle wars and duel arena are also the same content from every other server. The party room is probably the best content in the game, but the task of getting so many fires is extremely tedious unless you have a lot of people, which can be very fun getting all the fires, but the drop parties, especially 1st class, are disappointing to say the least. They don't drop very many useful items, and not that many balloons fall either. You spend a ton of time for something that's over in a matter of seconds.

I'm not hating on any of the content I just mentioned, as it's all very well added content. The problem is mainly boredom (or difficulty, in the case of zombies). If you guys had a fun activity that almost any player could do and it wasn't any sort of tedious task or the same thing over and over, it would really spice the game up. ...

... As for content, maybe an on-going minigame with a lot of content and variation as you progress, sort of like dungeoneering in RuneScape or something like that. As long as it can keep players entertained for long periods of time, it'll be good.

I do agree to majority of this. A lot of people play private servers primarily because they want to play RuneScape as it use to be without working as hard for their skills and items (most of you probably know that). I remember when I first played WorldScape, I loved the idea of ::runes, probably one of the reasons why I stayed.

In a sense, private servers are there to provide content that is buffed. I think more overpowered content would appeal to a percentage of people out there that want to play rsps (even if it's only a few months).

Of course content will have to be balanced in some way, just not too balanced that it loses the feeling of a rsps. The server must remain unique at all times (that attracts people from other rsps) and gives the feeling of being "home". ;d

Now I understand people may entirely disagree with me solely because they play rsps for different reasons, but it's always good to provide feedback from many perspectives. ;]

I'm pretty sure RS has always had one ore come from a rock. Unless they just made an extremely recent update that allowed multiple to be mined from one rock that I'm unaware of...
I'm sure you can get more then one Ore from a rock. I'm positive.

Unless they've made an update taking it away. I haven't played in a while.

The only way you can receive multiple ores from a rock is if you have the Varrock armor and even that is limited to 2.

I do understand where you are going and it does make total sense.

Though with change comes mental change, we should be able to be break out of our current mental conditioning of monetary excellence.

Nor do I support the Zeitgeist Movement, because there'd be no way to put value to anything. Possible situation:
QuotePerson 1: Hey, I'll buy your house for my car!
Person 2: No way! My house is way more.
Person 1: Prove it!
Person 2: Ehh...

Even though common sense can periodically come into play, there's no real way to say "hey, this is _ more valuable than this". Having that basis for currency is what we rely on, and even though yes, it causes people to go money drunk, it keeps people within reality. You also have the problem of jobs.. Instead of 15 dollars an hour, what would you get? Two loaves of bread an hour? That's stupid, because your pay would be inconsistent, and bosses would have to be super trustworthy to pay their employees valuable items every time they pay. I just don't see any of these. Not trying to sound ignorant or arrogant, but I think democracies work the most fluently and safely, have everyone vote for a leader that may be impeached at any time.

The Zeitgeist Movement is a very fascinating thing to think about. If more and more people explore the possibilities it could bring, things may change.

Now the Zeitgeist Movement does not support labor to stay alive, all the food and goods will be free of charge. Although, it does not exclude labor all together. The Zeitgeist Movement puts quite a bit of emphasis on automated labor, so you wouldn't be working to survive (everything will be provided by each other) you would be working to advance civilization. Don't get me wrong, someone will have to design the machines, but automated labor would replace the people building the machines which build the machines, which build the infrastructure.

Another part of the Zeitgeist Movement is to increase the knowledge of every individual there is so we can work together to create even more advanced technology, which in return will help us survive as a species. Monetary compensation would not be relevant and thus the practice of it (learning an ability to make money e.g A Marketing Agent) would be irrelevant.

And as far as child labor goes, no I had no paper to write. I also think it's wrong unless the kids want to do it, the shit that pisses me off is organizations that try to prevent kids from working that want to work for money to "protect them". They (almost) piss me off more than Creationalists.. But let's not bring religion into this.

Child labor would be abolished as the child's main goal would be to learn, not to survive. Now there are a lot of reasons a child or children would be stuck in the position of thriving to be safe, or to be "protected". I can't even begin to roll out the possibilities of the situation(s), but in a world of thriving methodically enriched people, these types of social problems would most likely be wrapped up.

Quick solution, Make no-one in the world work, and give everyone a billion dollars.

No need for money. A practicable solution which could result in world peace. The Zeitgeist Movement. All we would need. A resource-based economy.

This sounds weird, but I think that would attract more younger people to buy their shoes. They'd see their peers making the shoes, so they'd want to buy them. It's just like alcohol advertising. It would help their company if anything.

Well, I can see where you are going. But think about it, if they the companies sell at the price they do now, the kids won't be able to afford the shoes simply as a result of the low pay. But in actuality they wouldn't be buying them in the first place, their parents would be or most likely would be. So the company wouldn't get very far if they showed children working on the product.

Now, I do understand that commercials (if that was what you were implying) do to an extent, specifically target younger children for their shoes. e.g Light up shoes. But they also have to appeal to the buyers as well. e.g The parents. Which you guys most likely knew.

To go a little of topic: The other day it caught my attention that there are laws, in Florida, preventing teenagers from working full-time (20+ hours a week), but nothing restricting volunteer hour consumption. o.O

I never thought of that :o The only problem with that is cost. But then again - if child labor was allowed, we could fund for things such as this.

We have to keep young children in SCHOOL!!! Otherwise they will become unfortunately wage-slaves.

A Grand Exchange would be quite the tool. Maybe to give Ryan an even better challenge? I'm glad to see people still interested in suggestions for the server, makes me happy.

It's good to see people also reflecting on past topics, it's good to see that someone is that interested. Even though it's not shameful to post on older topics. It would be good to post new fresh ones with maybe, perhaps, even more reflective thoughts--of course to help enrich the suggestions--

RuneScape Discussion / Re: Jagex Bankruptsy!

Unfortunately Jagex has in the past opened their doors to investors. This in return may have changed the way Jagex uses their products as a way to get money.

Obviously I can only infer that the investments made to Jagex are not only for RuneScape, but for future games Jagex plans to release.
