My other question. Why is it so hush hush when a player gets banned? Like I'll ask the player why they were banned and they'll say "can't tell you sorry".

A lot of it just has to do with player security. SiKE! I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty embarrassed about being banned. The staff sets no restrictions on what you can and cannot say about your ban. We would prefer that you keep it to yourself, but at the same time it's totally up to the one being banned!
