npc= monster or something that you can fight
pnpc=something that you talk to like the banker or lumbride guide

NPC = Non player character
PNPC = Player as a non player character (Not sure if that's official, but that's what it does.)

pnpncs arent players though, and how can a player be a non player character, it would counteract, wouldnt it?
