General (OT) / MW3?
November 09, 2011, 11:20:06 PM
Okay who got MW3? And for what system? What's your level and how well you like the game? Achievements so far?

I got it and I LOVE it. It's soo fun how fast-paced it is. I'm like level 36 or 37 right now played about 3 hours gameplay time. I've found that I like predator missile+reaper+ac130 killstreaks the best atm. Almost have my reaper emblem :) The only thing I wish they did was fix the panic knifing.

508 Bugs / Trading glitch and friends list glitch
November 07, 2011, 12:08:29 AM
You can't remove items from trade in 508 client.

At least when I try to add a friend it will say your friends list is full. Then I delete someone and try again and it still says this.

508 Bugs / ::char and doors
November 06, 2011, 11:38:25 PM
In the 508 the ::char command does nothing. Also, I don't think you can open any doors in the 508. The ones in lumby and the one to the staff shop in etele don't work at least.

Rants / 'Verbal Warnings'
November 03, 2011, 09:32:14 PM
Hey first of all I just want to point out that I'm not trying to hate on the staff or tell them how to do their job on anything, but I think it's annoying how you guys keep only giving verbal warnings after people spam clan pages. Like, people will just keep doing it if you don't start cracking down on them, at least this is my opinion. I just think you're being too nice about it. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Tutorials/Guides (WS) / Guide-Making Contest!
October 11, 2011, 07:44:27 PM
Hello everyone! I just want to have a little contest here for a couple of reasons. This contest is to see who can create the best guide! (Rules below) In week or two, depending on the entries, I'll have everyone vote for whose guide is the best. The winner will receive 3rd age range top and bottom! The reason I am doing this is mainly because I want to see more guides on these forums. It will help new people out and I also think they're fun to make and read. So, here are the rules:

1) The guide must be related to worldscape and must be a guide for the game. This includes a skill guide, monster guide, barrows guide, camp guide, etc.

2) The guide must contain pictures!

3) The guide must be created by you, and anything that you use that you didn't create you must give credit to at the end.

4) A link to your guide must be posted as a response to this topic.

5) All entries must be in by the end of the day on October 23rd, 2011 (my birthday :D) in order for them to be valid.

So please guys, post your guides and have fun with this! I might even raise the reward if a lot of people do this! Post away!

Tutorials/Guides (WS) / Mining Guide
October 11, 2011, 07:36:03 PM
Hellooo everyone. This guide here is a detailed guide to mining which can hopefully help you achieve whatever level you want in mining. I hope you enjoy my guide!

Basics/Overview

Hopefully you know the basics of mining from past experiences or whatever, but in case not, I'll save you the trouble by telling you them right here! And yes, these are perhaps the most obvious things ever, but hey...

First off, mining is a skilling stat, meaning it does not train your combat level. Hopefully you at least know that lol... Mining is trained by retrieving ores from various rocks around the map using a pickaxe. This is a simple yet somewhat tedious skill to train. It will require a bit of patience and a decent attention span if you wish to train this at an efficient rate, especially over prolonged periods of time.

To get a pickaxe, there is a bronze one (Requires 1 mining) that spawns at ::iron, and you can buy a rune one (I think requires 41 mining) from ::theshop for 32,800 coins.

TRAINING

*Detailed information about all of the rocks can be found near the end of the guide

Level 1 - 15

For these levels, mine copper and tin rocks, as they are really the only rocks you can mine at this low of a level. It shouldn't take long AT ALL to reach level 15.

Level 15 - 30

For levels 15 - 30, you should mine iron ore, as it is great experience at these levels and doesn't take long to get to 30. Do not bother trying to find any silver rocks, because it just turns out to be a waste of time.

Level 30 - (40) 55

At level 30 - 55, you can mine coal. These mine at about the speed of iron, but do take longer to respawn. I would recommend mining all of the coal at ::iron2, then while waiting for it to respawn mine iron ore so you won't be left getting no exp, although you might not have this problem because coal respawns rather quickly. You could also just continue to mine iron if you like.

Gold is unlocked at level 40, but due to its unavailability and little more experience than coal or iron, I wouldn't recommend bothering with it.

Level 55 - (135) 70

Level 55 unlocks the ability to mine mithril, which I believe is one of the best ores to train mining with. If you want, you can mine these until you reach level 70, or keep going with mithril until you reach level 135, which I would recommend doing.

Level 70 - 85

At level 70, you can mine adamantite. This only gives about 3k more experience than mithril and has about double the respawn time. They are also very limited, so I wouldn't recommend mining them, but you can if you want to.

Level 85+

At level 85, you unlock the last ore you can mine, which is runite. I personally think this is the worst to train on because there is an extremely low amount of them and they take an extremely long time to respawn. Although, they do give about 10k more exp than mithril rocks, so a good strategy might be to mine all of the runite rocks when they spawn, then go back to mining mithril.

The 'best' way to get 135?

I would honestly recommend that you mine mithril because there is a huge abundance of it and it mines fairly quickly, as well as gives decent experience. Also, every 25 minutes or so, check up on the runite ore spawns to see if there are any at the rocks for a little bit more experience. Although this may seem like a good idea, if you're focused on getting as much experience as you possibly can in a specified time period, I would just skip doing this because mining 2 runite rocks is about the equivalent of mining 3 mithril rocks, and takes considerably longer to get to the runite spawns and actually mine the rocks.

Hey guys. This is going to be a pro guide to barrows. I'm assuming you already know the basics, and if you don't, I suggest reading this first. This guide won't tell you how to get there and my steps won't just be: 'kill the brothers' because I think that's a bit obvious. This is only a melee guide though, because I have yet to do this with mage to see how effective it is, but I'll post a mage guide in this topic as soon as I can.

First I'm going to talk about inventory/bank/equipment setup.

For inventory, I recommend something like this:

The DDS can be any spec'ing weapon that you want. I prefer this because it has a nice special and you can use it 4 times. I also have nothing better. The spade, well that's obvious. You should use one dose of each potion per go. You can have more food than that if you want, but I like to have empty inventory space for drops.

For equipment, I recommend something like this:

The neitiznot can be a berserker helm if you can't afford one, the amulet of strength could also be an amulet of fury or berserker necklace to increase your attack bonuses. I recommend a fire cape over skillcapes just because of the +4 strength that it gives. Keris could be replaced with a whip. I wouldn't recommend using a godsword as your primary weapon because they're slow. Fighter torso could be replaced with any barrows body or bandos if you have that. The rune defender could also be substituted with an obby shield. Dragon boots could be replaced with rune boots. You kinda need barrows gloves, but I guess dragon or something could work too. You don't really need the berserker ring, but if you have one, definitely use it.

Another thing you could do is wear ahrims or keep it in your inventory so when you fight ahrim you won't have to pray mage.*

EDIT: I just found out that using ahrims doesn't really work for protecting against ahrim's magic attacks. I was told by 1 800 owned or brianc that armadyl is good for ahrim, so I'll try that in the future and let you know how it works. That means I might also change my equipment setup recommendation.

So in your bank, just make sure you have plenty of food you can use and potions.

What to do before each go:

- Drink a dose of potions
- For quick prayer restore, put these coords in your ignore list and go to them: 3244, 3208
- Get some more food and bank your reward if it was any good

How I recommend doing it

- Go in a circle around barrows, then go in the middle one last.
- Spec the guys as often as you can.
- Turn on strength prayer ONLY each time you enter a crypt.
- Protect from magic when fighting ahrim because he's just annoying.. (unless using ahrims or mage armor)
- Rush through them as fast as you can, it makes it more interesting so you'll be less likely to get bored.
- Don't go in expecting to get great rewards your first go, because 99 times out of 100, that won't happen. You'll just be discouraged to be expecting something great then get runes.

I honestly recommend very high attack and strength levels before doing this, just to make it go faster. Like, if you're a level 120 or something, don't try this until you have better stats because you just won't have fun. You'll take a long time to kill the brothers and the crappy rewards won't help boost your morale. There are obviously some exceptions to this, such as being a pure or if you are using magic.

This is where I'll be recording all of the rewards I get from each go I do. I'll summarize it at the bottom for you guys so you can get a sense of how rare the rewards are.

Suggestions / Skillcape stats

I think you should give skillcapes a +4 strength bonus like a fire cape so we can wear them when we PK.

Thoughts?

I just have to say that you guys did a really good job at picking the current staff. There's almost always a mod/admin online in game and on forums now. Great job :)

#159
Hey everyone! This is something people do a lot in RuneScape to make a lot of money, so I decided to bring it here.

I'm going to be hosting boxing matches at the duel arena. You may choose to fight either me or someone else.

The rules are as follows:

- You can not wear any items whatsoever
- You can not use any type of food (this includes mint cakes)
- You can not use magic
- You can't complain and ask for your items back if you lose
- You and your opponent must agree on a stake. You both must stake something. The default stake would be 1 barrow glove for each of you to stake. But you don't have to do that.

As long as you follow these rules, you may do whatever you want once you enter the duel arena.

Why do this? Well, it's actually a really great way to make money. Depending on how much wealth you stake, you can get very rich very quickly. HOWEVER, you can also lose a lot of wealth very easily. I tried this out and I went from 8 barrow gloves to 25 barrow gloves in about 15 minutes.

When will this take place? Whenever two people who want to fight are online at the same time as me.

So for now, you're not going to pick who you want to fight with yet. All you will do is sign up and be entered in to the event. This sign-up will last for one week, and then I will start asking people to choose their partners.

The application for applying:

Username:
Combat Level:
Attack:
Strength:
Defence:
Hitpoints:
Prayer:
Why you want to join:
When you can be online to fight:

So basically, a quick recap:

You stake someone and you cannot wear any items, use food, or use magic. After one of you dies, the other will claim the reward. Don't complain if you lose. After all, you signed up for it.

I hope you guys have fun with this!

Oh, and the winner of the competition will receive 15 barrows gloves from me!

Clans Recruitment / Reminder About Clan Discussions
March 30, 2011, 07:13:00 PM
So there has honestly been a lot of discussing going on in clan recruitment topics for awhile now, and it NEEDS to stop. And it needs to stop NOW. There are discussion boards for a reason. You are expected to use the discussion boards to talk about clan matters, NOT the clan recruitment page. The first time you do this, you will be verbally warned. The second time you will receive a 10% warning. And if spam continues, we might have to lock the topic for 24 hours until you learn your lesson.

Once again, stop spamming on recruitment pages.
