Title: Closing ports
Post by: Drunk Mario on April 30, 2011, 07:34:42 PM
Hey AllGoFree!

This is mainly for the nerdier side of Worldscape.. even I don't know how to do this.. ::)

I am having trouble voting on Runelocus, because it says this:

"Sorry, you seem to have port 80, 8080 or 3128 open. These ports must be closed in order to vote. This is a proxy protection."

How am I able to close those ports/fix this problem? I read online that Closing Port 80 could give you failed webpages.. but how do other people do it then without doing that?

/Help

Access your Router Gateway and find the port forwarding rules page
Find Port 80 and remove it.
another way is to go to your Windows Firewall, find port 80 and remove it.

but it's mainly on your router

Port 80 is used by Apache, it for website hosting.

I looked on my Firewall and saw nothing named "port 80" ... and how exactly do I access my Router Gateway?

It's like the url for your router, mine was 184.168.1.1 [that's what you type in your browser]
Then it'll ask you for the username and password, after you've typed that in there should be all sorts of funny gadgets :D.

I don't know the username and password.
The defualt for alot of peoples is usualy U: admin P: admin and don't change the caps that i put in. If that doesn't work then type your default gateway in google and write passwords. I.E: 192.168.1.1 default passwords
