It would become to something like "thumbs up if..blah blah.."...
I say no. Like Mike said, People would just put at the end of their posts: "plz thumbs up for cool post plz". Basically a pain for the forum mods.
this suggestion reminds me of facebook or youtube
like when people go "like this if you saw this comment at a certain time" ect ect

Well the multiple accounts thing could be prevented, By simply making it one thumb up or down per Ip per Post.
..and I'm sure you realize how absolutely EASY it is to change your IP? Seeing as you've done it before.
