Question:
What do you think what's the correct answer?
Option 1: 9
votes: 7
Option 2: 1
votes: 4
Well, I've seen this one facebook, so I wanted to share it to you guys.
The question is:
6÷2(1+2)= ?
Let me see what you guys think, what it is. :)
I'm dumb, Isn't it 6?
I even gave you a multiple choices.. -.-"
Doesn't mean you're right? ;)
I think its 1 :)
why would you ask this? its simple???
The answer is 4.5 no I did not use a calculator. I'm just good at maths.
If you use BIDMAS which is;
Brackets
I(something)
Division
Multiplycation
Addition
Subtraction
You plus the numbers in the bracket (3) then you plus 3 with 6 that give you 9 divided by 2. IS 4.5
Me bein drunk know a :oenswer. 6;2=3 (1+2) 3:3=1
9.

6÷2(1+2)= ?
step one ------ (1+2)=3
step two ------ 6÷2=3
step three ---- 3(3)=9
answer=9
or i can just open up the calculator and know the answer, lol.
I got 9 lol.
6÷2(1+2)= ?
You always so whats inside the () first, so 3, then divide6 by 2, you get 3. then you Multiply them to get 9.

The way that I learned it was PEMDAS
Parenthesis
Exponents
Multiplicatoin
Division
Addition
Subtraction
6/2(1+2)
Parenthesis = [6/2(3)]
Exponents = None
Multiplication = [6/6]
Division = [1/1]
Addition = None
Subtraction = None
Therefore, the Answer Logically is
1. HOWEVER,
Parenthesis = [6/2(1+2)] = [6/2(3)]
Exponents = None
We Take 1+2 (Turn it into 3), and Substitute 3 with X
Division = (6/2x) = 3x
Multiplication = None
Subtraction = None
Addition = None
Therefore, our answer is 3x. We substitute X, to get:
3x =
9Therefore, logically, the answer CAN BE Either 1 or 9. So to be safe, it can be
5±4.
It all just depends on how you do
Trolling Order of Opperations.
You're supposed to multiply and divide in the order the go from left to right in the problem. So 9.

As you can see Kane, google calculated: (6/2)*(1+2) and not 6/2(1+2)..
So..
Same as 2+2+2+2+2x0 :D
People say its always 0 if theres that x0...but it isnt really :D
"P E M D A S = P(Parenthesis) E(Exponents) M(Multiplication) D(Division) A(Addition) S(Subtraction)"
In realistic enivroment thats 0, but matematically it isnt.. you know?
Then what about this:

im quessing either the photo is modified, or one calculater is set to order of operations, and one is just doing left to right.
I've asked my math teacher and he said it was 9. So.. :)
/reqclose. No need anymore for this thread.
why there is no reward? I am the first person to answer it right..Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
I got 9 as well .
Brackets first is it not? 1+2=3. 6/2=3 3x3=9. Am I right?

6 / 2( 1+2 )=
6 / 2 x 3=
3 x 3= 9
That's how my Math teacher said. :) Multiply or Divide are even worthy, so there is no multiply or divide first.. (if you know what I mean?)
I know whatcha mean!
