Title: The words I'll be saying
Post by: cooldevil712 on June 05, 2008, 02:13:42 AM
For all the free people that still protest, you're welcome.

We protect you and you are protected by the best.

Your voice is strong and loud, but who will fight for you?

No one standing in your crowd.

We are your fathers,brothers,and sons

wearing the boots and carrying the guns.

We are the ones that leave all we own,

to make sure your future is carved in stone.

We are the ones who fight and die.

We might not be able to save the world, well at least we try.

We walked the paths to where we are at

and we want no other choice than that.

So when you rally  your group to complain

take a look in the back of your brain.

In order for that flag you love to fly,

wars must be fought and young men must die.

We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear,

if that's not respected, we would rather stay here.

So please stop yelling and put down your signs,

and pray for those behind enemy lines.

When the conflict is over and all is well,

be thankful that we chose to go through hell.

-A tribute to the soldiers out in Iraq fighting for out country-

even if you don't live in the United States please just reply to give me your thoughts about this. :)

Careful with the all caps!  :P

Awesome poem! The message was great, and you did a great job on the rhyming!  ;)

I do enjoy your poem, and I feel it's well written. Although; contrary to what everyone is saying i think your message was to support the troops by praying and stop requesting us to pull out of the war. You are also saying that peace is through war.

I couldn't disagree more! "Peace comes not from the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it." - Jeremy (AllGoFree Owner)

We will always endure the agony of conflict between us and others; this does not condemn war. War is pointless; to handle these issues we must cope with the conflicts directed our way. We CAN'T police the world like our dear President is doing whilst i write a response to you.

With that said, I will ALWAYS regret the war in Iraq, I will always protest it and the pointless deaths of our 50,000 + soldiers.

Nice poem  :o.

And I believe what Pharmacist J said, Peace does come from the absence of conflict  :-\.

And, Quite frankly, I have no idea why were still over there.

If United States is in Iraq for finding weapons of mass destruction, where are they?  The only true reason we are there is trying to control there oil.  Why we can't just switch to electric cars, who knows?  Electing George W. Bush was the biggest mistake in America (in my opinion).  But the poem was good I just didn't like the message.  :)

It was a great poem, well written, and a good rhyming scheme. But I have to disagree: Peace comes without conflict.

Nice writing, with good rytming, but the layout (on this forum) makes it quite hard to read.

Besides, peace doesn't come from the lack of conflict; peace isn't the opposite of war. War is permanent - peace is only the result of people's ability to deal with it.

(Reminds me of a siggie I saw...wasn't it Jeremy's? Or on another forum, don't know. :) )
