Title: Usernames
Post by: Ry60003333 on April 26, 2009, 05:12:29 PM
As many of you know, the forum accounts will also be used as the in-game accounts for WorldScape Blitz. However, RuneScape usernames are limited to 12 characters, and underscores appear as spaces.

So, for this to work, forum account names have to be limited to 12 characters and must not contain underscores (_). I have already restricted the creation of new forum accounts that don't meet these requirements, but some existing accounts may already be over twelve characters and contain underscores.

If your account has over 12 characters or contains underscores, please post here and state what you would like the name changed too.

I have a question also!!

If a player is muted/ban/ipban/etc.., Would that have any effect on the Worldscape Blitz account as for in-game?

I have noticed that during this time i haven't been seeing alot of vulgar names (good) but most of the peopel who play on the account are very verbally vulgar so just don't judge an account my the name lol.

It has been changed. However, your display name and username are separate, so your name will still look cool. 8)

Ryan said this was only if you had _ in your name or more than 12 characters, not so you could just change it.

That is correct. Sorry, but we are not changing usernames that already meet the requirements. Now that the forum doesn't allow the creation of invalid in-game names, it doesn't matter. 8)

No, bleeeep is the username you use to login, not just the display name. When your username is changed, your password is also reset. Check the email account you signed up with; your new password is waiting there for you.

i think that is a good idea but it has it's up's and down's
up's:
you only need to remember 1 password
people have the same user in-game and on forums(so they dont pose as other people)
down's:
if someone gets your pass.... then you lose both accounts.
that's really all the down's

i like the idea though good job ryan!!! ;D :D ;) :)

I don't think you guys understand what this topic is about.

For about the fourth time, this topic is for people that have forum usernames that are either too long, or characters that Blitz will not accept. This topic is to request a new one, and requests that fit the requirements will be attended to. The usernames requested will be the sign-in usernames for Blitz!

.::Example::.

Forum Username: Squirrel_in_a_big_and_endless_hole
Requested Username: Squirrel

(Obviously, Blitz won't accept the existing username, so I requested a new one to log on with Blitz.

Your forums account will be linked to your blitz account meaning the username you have on the forums will be your user for in game as well as your password, they will be the same.

Let me clear things up. For Blitz your in game account will be the same as your forums account, same name and password. In Classic everything will stay the way it is now, nothing will change. So this argument is over, if you want to continue it please do so through PM.
