News and Announcements / My Resignation
March 19, 2016, 08:45:54 PM
Hey guys,

I hate to drop it off like this, and it's going to be quite long, but I'm going to be as blunt and straightforward as possible. When Kevin got out, I saw my opportunity to speak my mind and do so as well. This will be my resignation.

For starters, lets take a look at the good stuff. I started playing AGF's first server (Worldscape) Back in late 2006 early 2007. Those early days were some of the best times of my gaming life. After playing for a couple weeks, I got to know Ryan and the way way wayyyy former owner, Gizmo. We started talking about the server, ways it could improve, etc. and I eventually received a player moderator spot. After about two weeks of being a player moderator, I became an administrator. After Gizmo did some pretty shitty stuff, Ryan brought Jeremy on as his new co owner, and I was given the title 'head of staff.' Life happened, and at the time I was falling behind in some of my college work and working two jobs, so I decided to give up PC gaming altogether and left. Flashforward to oh... I believe it was 2010 or 2011, and I decided to see if Worldscape was still around. It was, and I got reacquainted with Ryan, and got to know Kevin. I was given my administrator privileges and before long, they both asked me to step up and become a part owner. Around this time, RR was started. I was slow to jump on board, focusing the majority of my attention on a dead game from my childhood, but eventually came around.

WorldScape (and later RuneRebels) has become a huge part of my young and adult life, and for that I couldn't thank everyone enough. I've had a lot, and I mean A LOT, of fun getting to know most of you, and made some great friends along the way.

Now that that's out of the way, I'm going to get to the bad. This isn't attempting to throw shade towards anyone, this is just me being as open and honest as possible, like I've always tried to be.

First, communication itself between Ryan, Kevin, and Myself has become almost non existent. To the point where sometimes, we don't speak for 1-3 MONTHS at a time. I know this goes three ways, but it's still unacceptable, unprofessional, and just downright won't work for an ownership group.

Second, there have been way too many empty promises made by all of us. I think deep down, we all genuinely wanted to bring RR and WS back. Real life has gotten in the way wayyy too many times, and in my opinion if we can't make time for this, there's no point leading you guys on any farther. The database (that was supposed to be brought back over 3 months ago) was never brought back online. There has been no further development to the API system that was supposed to be introduced over 3 months ago. There has been 0 progress made internally to the server in almost two years. Ryan is working on multiple start up projects and has no time whatsoever for the RSPS's. Kevin is now working on ServerAds, and I'm busy being a grown up. It's just not feasible.

Third, we've been way too dishonest with the majority of you guys, and chased off the majority of our playerbase because of it. The reputation that RR and AGF has right now is pretty awful, and for that I apologize.

Again, I want to sincerely thank everyone for the fun I've had the past 8 or so years. It's been really enjoyable (minus the last year or so), and I'll still be around every now and then. And to Ryan specifically, if you plan on bringing the RSPS's back again, I do wish you the best of luck.

Your alcoholic buddy,

-James

News and Announcements / Merger/Reset.
January 28, 2016, 03:55:03 AM
Hey everyone,

I'm really excited to announce that AllGoFree is back. In the next couple of weeks, we'll be introducing some more members of the development staff we're building, as well as some things to expect in the future. A lot of the stuff is going to be awesome, some of it not so awesome at first, but in the end it'll all be awesome.

First things first. All of our servers are becoming too scattered and we hate that. What we're going to be doing is merging all of our servers to one forum, with the URL to be announced in the future. All of our other urls will direct you there at that point, and there will be different boards for different servers. Not only does it make it easier for us to moderate, but it will also affect our ability to fix bugs. This should happen sometime between March and April.

Second, I want to confirm that YES, THERE WILL BE A FULL RESET. The date is not set in stone, but we're anticipating sometime between March and April. The way we're going to do this is the following:

1. All Worldscape Classic accounts that are created before April will be loaded onto a separate world with registration closed. This means that for nostalgic purposes, you will be able to access that account. HOWEVER, This "Classic" world will not have ANY moderated support, ANY updates, ANY technical support, or take away time from ANY of the staff members. There will be no moderators on this particular server, and only one "General" board category that will also be, for the most part, unmoderated.

2. A new Worldscape Classic (we'll be thinking of a better, fancier name) world will be launched, with registration open and emails sent out, as well as some advertising. We will introduce some developers, being as the API is now sitting at approximately 90% completed, that will be able to provide complete support. We will launch with two player moderators, Mia and Jake. A lot of the drops of the NPCs and miscellaneous stuff like that will be messed around with by Kevin and myself.

3. We're also hoping to bring back a seperate Blitz world, but that's a lot farther away than the previous two points. More than likely May-June, but we're not going to set a date for that yet.

Discuss, rant, or ask questions. I'm all yours, honey.

General (WS) / Rumors that turned out to be true
January 03, 2016, 05:20:00 PM
Jeremy was Eon9

Jeremy was Zeldagirl, Salt, Pepper, and basically everyone else who was his 'girlfriend'

Jack did pretend to be his own girlfriend

Jeremy was Pharmacist J

Jeremy used to make his accounts able to PK outside of the Wilderness.

There is a write-ups section of the forums where Jeremy would treat this shit like an actual job and write people up lmao

The exact amount of money Jeremy stole from Ryan isn't known, however it's said to be an amount in the hundreds

Worldscape and RuneRebels were almost sold at one point, however Moparscape decided to spend their money on a bunch of useless sources

There was talks to remove the option to donate for anything other than cosmetic armor with no stat bonuses

The zombie minigame was going to be its own server

James doesn't like bacon

I originally left Worldscape because Jeremy fucked with my account, and made it impossible to login. When I finally got my account info back, I found out Jeremy had changed my password to his Social Security # (or someone important to hims SSN)

Jeremy used to scam people on RS by trading/selling Worldscape staff positions. Laughably, a good friend of mine that used to play and I scammed Jeremy for a blue phat on RS3.

Logs really only work like 40% of the time.

When I came back from being away for a couple years, I still had Mod in my name. Kevin flipped shit and made me change it  ;)

Jake was the first person I met when I came back.

At one point, the staff team consisted of me, jeremy, ryan, sorlence (mod elias), katie, and bill. Jeremy used to sneak around and ban/demote bill and Sorlence without telling Ryan and would pretend someone was hacking the server and demoting everyone lol.

Future Updates / Poll for Worldscape's future.
November 04, 2014, 03:14:44 PM
Hey guys,

In my time developing solely Worldscape for the past few months, I've noticed something. When new players join, they don't stay. When asked why,  most of them say something very similar: the economy is trash, and theres no opportunities for anyone to be on top of the hiscores.  I've got a solution for it, that we've tried once before but it failed due to a lack of care and progression.

What I am proposing, is yet another World split. But, there's a catch to keeping old accounts on a separate world:

1. The new world would have all of the current WorldScape (which will be renamed to Worldscape classic) accounts. These accounts will have all of their items, stats, and will not change. There will be a seperate high scores, that way it remains competitive for players who use the classic server.

2. There will be NO SUPPORT for the second server. The second server will be left as is, and will not receive any updates. Mainly due to the fact we will be focused on the NEW Worldscape. (The 474 version)

3. Only players WITH WS classic accounts will be able to play the WS Classic server. Registration would be closed.

Now, on to the new world:

1. The new world will be a complete restart. No stats, no items, nothing.

2. The new world will be multi revision again, with the 377 client, the 508 client, and soon to be the 474 client.

3. There will be BI-WEEKLY updates for the new Worldscape server.

4. There will be suggested content polls, where you all would be able to suggest content for us to add, and then we'll all vote on it as a server, and the good suggestions will be implemented.

5. PK'ing sets will be buyable with coins, so the people who think pk'ing will die because of lack of these items are wrong. We plan on having a shop that sells Dharocks, Whips, DDS's, and Amulets of strength.

I'll add new stuff as I think about it or as questions are asked. Thoughts?

Happy Halloween, from all of us here at Worldscape. This year, it seems that some (or maybe, most?) of a zombie has appeared in Lumbridge. What kind of cooky adventures await? Why is there such a spooky atmosphere? Why can't ghosts just spit it out!? You'll find out!

To start the event: Talk with Most of a Zombie in Lumbridge. (PLEASE NOTE: The event starts immediately after talking with the Zombie, and you cannot leave the area until the event is complete!)

Required skills: None. There is no combat in this event.

Please reload your clients to receive the spooky halloween effects!

Hey guys,

Some of you know, and some of you don't. Not to sound like a bitchy winer, but I'm currently recovering from knee surgery (spent all day and night Wednesday in the hopsicle), and am taking the rest of the weekend to kind of rest and recuperate.  Torn Miniscus's suck, but at least I get some good pain medication for the next few weeks. Should be good to go next week, and I should be fully recovered in 4-6 weeks.

I'm not throwing an update completely out of the question, but I've been sleeping most of the past few days, so who knows xD

Future Updates / Herblore shop?
October 06, 2014, 06:42:01 PM
Would you guys prefer a herblore shop for supplies?

If so, should we charge rune shards (make it donators only, to help support the server?)

Future Updates / "Failing" Agility Courses?
September 27, 2014, 10:22:16 PM
Hey guys,

I was talking to a couple of people, and they all generally shared the same opinion as me.

I don't think that agility should be a 'failable' skill, being as it's already very slow.

Would you guys like to see failing courses implemented, or would you rather them not be failable?

News and Announcements / Woop Woop!
September 27, 2014, 09:31:02 PM

You know it foo's!  With this one comes another massive overhaul of the slayer skill, and a new centralized location to smelt and smith. I don't want to toot my own horn, but revamping slayer was a complete f*cking b*tch, but it's going to be so much better and I hope you all love it.

~NPCs~
- The Arzinian Being of Bordozan is now un attackable.

~Smithing/Smelting
- Created a new smithing and smelting area, that can be reached at ::smelt, ::smith, ::smithing, and ::smelting.

~Item Definitions~
- Gave the 10th squad sigil a strength bonus of +22.

~Herblore~
- Nests are now crushable. Use your herblore tool on a bird's nest to obtain a crushed nest.

~Commands~
- Added ::shades which teleports you to the etele shades.
- Added ::clearslayertask which can be used once per 30 minutes to reset your slayer task.
- Added ::deathaltar which teleports you to the death altar.
- Added ::gnomecourse command which teleports you to the gnome agility course.
- Added ::alias command which allows you to create your own teleport commands.

~SLAYER REVAMP~
- Added a separate list for Worldscape for tasks. The New Worldscape tasks are as follows:

- Shades - Men/Women - Otherworldly beings - Experiments - Giant Bats - Cockatrices - Bears - Cave Slimes - Dwarfs - Arzinians - Ghosts - Basilisks - Ice Warriors - (u)Jelly? - Ogres - Giants - Lesser Demons -
(NOTE: Experiments, Shades, and Otherworldy beings have higher amounts than other tasks.)

- Vannaka has been officially fired from giving slayer tasks. It was silly for him to do slayer and give out capes. We have found a qualified replacement, located at ::slayertower.
- NPCs in the Slayer tower now have an 8 second respawn time.
- Slayer Monsters now drop items that pertain to skilling.

~Agility~ (V. 1.0!)
- The gnome agility course has been unlocked for testing. More to come shortly! (to reach, use the command ::gnomecourse)

~Runecrafting~
- You can now craft death runes via the Death Altar.

News and Announcements / Worldscape is Back Online!
September 26, 2014, 09:04:39 PM
Unfortunately, we had to do some server maintenance to cover ourselves with this big exploit going around (shellshock, if you want to look into it.)

Everything is back, and fully functioning. Thanks Gentleman/ladies!

Future Updates / Updated Revision?
September 24, 2014, 10:30:28 PM
Hey guys,

We've been talking lately about ways to spruce up Worldscape.

We all love the game as it is, but how would you guys feel about scrapping the 317/377 game frame for a 474 gameframe? That way, we have the option to add things back into the game such as lunars and summoning, and potentially even construction at some point.

Thoughts, ideas?

QOTD / QOTD: September 19th, 2014
September 19, 2014, 11:34:29 AM
Figured I'd jump back into this!

Question: What is your favorite Worldscape memory of all time?

Mine would have to be the day back in early 2008(ish?) when Worldscape hit 100 members online at the same time. At the time, that was pretty hard for a low key RSPS to do, givin the fact that the majority just either played Frugooscape or Pimpscape.

Hey guys,

Being as were within hours of the release of the Queen, I think it's time to release the way the Sea Troll Queen's drops will work.

For starters, the Sea Troll Queen has three drop groups. Meaning, you get three drops per kill.

The first drop group is 100% of the time, the Queen drops 3 Ourg Bones.

The second drop group, the Sea Troll Queen has a 25% chance (Meaning, you always get one of the four) of these items:

Dragon Boots
Rune Defender
Barrow's Gloves
Berserker Ring

The third drop group is the actual drop group. This is where your rares and skilling supplies come in.

Common Drops:

60 Gold Bars
40 Uncut Diamonds
800 Feathers
50 Bronze Bars
40 Iron Bars
35 Steel Bars
30 Mithril Bars
25 Adamant Bars
20 Runite Bars
200 Pure Essence
100 Coal
150 Bowstring
100 Magic Logs

Rare Drops:

50 Runite Bars
75 Adamantite Bars
350 Coal

Super Rare:

The Sea Troll also drops the new Moonclan Armor set!

Hey guys, unfortunately, we're going to have to push back the update an extra 20ish hours :'(.

This was due to a combination of schedules, and the fact that the boss decided to show us a bug in the last little bit of testing. Unfortunately, she can somehow mage her minions. While we are tracking down exactly where and how to fix this, we also discovered a bug with the way we were doing drops. With the current drop system, if you have say one item drop .5% of the time, and nothing else, it'll actually completely ignore the empty drop tables. We gotta fix that too  :(.

While that's going on though, I did complete everything else necessary for the update. We will be releasing everything done tomorrow at 8:00 PM EST, even if it takes us a little longer for the boss we want to push out slayer and the new smithing area.

Thanks for your patience, and for the trouble, I'll go ahead and announce that the boss is in fact, the Sea Troll Queen. I've been giving out little hints all week long, and Kane finally cracked the case.

Future Updates / Centralized mining area
September 13, 2014, 02:17:50 PM
Would you guys like a centralized mining area?

Basically it would be an area with 6-7 mining rocks of each ore, with a bank booth etc.

How do you all feel about this?

James and Ryan's Development Blog! / Still hard at work!
September 12, 2014, 06:43:31 PM
Sup foo's,

Today I've been hard at work again with the new boss, and getting her ready to see the light. She's most definitely being the queen of pain in the asses, so it'll be nice to have the boss all ready to go. As another sneak peak, I'm going to give everyone a little preview of her stats:

HP: 1100
Attack: 255
Strength: 255
Defence: 255
Magic: 255
Range: 255

She will use a combination of different attack styles, which include the following:

Melee - A very strong melee attack that has a max hit of 73.
Mage - A combination of Ice and Blood barrages.
Range - A ranged attack that has the speed of Rune Knifes but the attacking power of a Dragon Arrow. She can max out at about 54 with range.

The last part to getting the boss ready to go is editing the AI so that she cycles through all of her attacks in regards to prayer. As some of you may have seen already, she prefers to use a combination of Mage and Melee, and completely disregards her ability to use a ranged attack. She will also continue to attempt to mage at times, even when protection prayers are in use.

Also, I have began working on a centralized location for smithing and smelting (and potentially mining too, a poll will be up later for this.) This will make it easier to smith and smelt, as you won't have to teleport from place to place to make your stoof.
