Restoration Update #2 has been released!





Included updates:
- A BETA version of Slayer has been released! There are many missing features and probably lots of bugs; but it is trainable, so please post feed back on it!
- Dueling plugin version 6.
- Classic plugin version 23.
- XP disabled in Duel Arena.
- Removed agility requirement from Crystal bow.
- Corrected the GFX for the Crystal bow.

We have just updated the 317 version of the WorldScape client to build #25. This fixes the bug where clicking songs in the music player would crash the client and adds the ability to use the mouse wheel to scroll on interfaces that have scroll bars!  8)

Hello everyone! It is almost that time of year again, and to celebrate the revival of WorldScape, one of the first updates that we will be doing is an awesome Christmas event! So, please post any and all suggestions for the event on this thread. However, please keep a few things in mind!

- We cannot add custom items/npcs/objects to the client, we can only use existing items/npcs/objects.
- The idea has to be technically possible!
- Of course, it has to be fun!

So please post your ideas here, we can't wait to hear them!

We have just fixed a major bug in an update to the objects system in the game engine that broke the Party Room, and probably other features that people didn't notice.  ::)

Instead of resetting the economy of the current accounts, consider this idea:

What if we made a second game world where you used the same username and password, but you had a different in game account? This would mean that World 1 would have your account as it is today, with all the items and skills, and World 2 would be a blank start for everyone; and you would be able to login to either with the same username and password and change between them as you please. Also, the friends list would be linked between the two worlds, and we would have two highscore tables.  ;D

What do you guys think? Would you want us to try to do this? I feel that it would give WorldScape a chance to shine without all of the duped items and glitches accounts from the past, and it would preserve all of the current accounts and all of WorldScape's history.

I am never giving up on this game, and if you guys think this will bring more players to the server then we will do it! 8)

Due to the recent hacking, and a very kind purchase of a hosting provider by Kevin (;D), I have moved WorldScape on to a brand new, super fast, reliable, and secure hosting service that should be much much better then running the website from my house.

However, in order to achieve maximum security, we have started with a clean install of SMF 2.0.2. We did NOT lose anything while moving the site, all of your accounts, posts, etc. are still there! What we did lose was the themes and extensions installed on the forums, we will be reinstalling those shortly, but right now we are focusing on getting everything back up and running. :)

Also, the HighScores and Play links are also broken, these will also be fixed soon. 8)

As many of you know, the forums went down yesterday due to some database issues. This was due to Program (Aaron) and Mute (Luke) deleting the entire forums, all of the in-game items, and many other various things such as my senior project data. He was banned permanently because of this; I was up until 5 AM yesterday restoring all of this data from a backup recorded at 8 AM yesterday, then I immediately went to sleep, or I would've posted about this yesterday. So basically, the forum and the game have effectively been rolled back to 8 AM yesterday.

Also, I don't understand why you guys think the WorldScape is going to be shut down, if I wanted it to be shut down, I would've just kept it offline after it was hacked. But I spent four hours repairing it because this is my website and game and I care about it; it was the first private server I created and I don't plan on shutting it down.

You guys keep complaining about the RuneRebels project; the reason we didn't post it here is because we didn't want it to steal players from WorldScape, however you guys freaked out saying that we were trying to keep it a secret, so we post it here for everyone to see, and now you freak out because you think we are stopping WorldScape. Both server will continue to be run and updated.

I'm sorry that updates to WorldScape are still widely spaced out; but it has been like this for a while, mainly because I have so many other things going on in my life, such as school, planning for college, and so on. Right now I have four weeks "off" from school where I must work 6 hours every weekday on my senior project, which is developing another game from scratch. So I'm sorry that there aren't many updates, but the server is not shutting down and it would be nice if everyone would stop spreading rumors that aren't true! Thank you,

You can set down and pick up pets and have them as followers(Completely clipped).
If they lose you they will teleport to you.

Complicated stuff

  • A plugin system that allows easy enabling and disabling of features such as skills and mini games, as well as complete customization. Two completely different servers can be created by just changing the plugin configuration, all using the same .jar for the engine.
  • Version support (such as 317, 508, etc.) is added through plugins, so new client revisions can always be adding while still utilizing existing code. Currently, 317, 459, 474, 508, 562, 613 (with 614 cache), and 637 are supported. 317 and 508 are the most implemented revisions.
  • Supports 2000 simultaneous active players, not bots that stand and do nothing! (Video down below!)
  • Integration with MySQL to load information, such as item definitions, that fits perfectly into a database structure and allows collaborative editing of all the information contained in it.
  • Super fast event based engine for game logic that is elegant and simplistic.
  • Multiple IO support, choice of Netty, Apache Mina, or Java NIO. All IO runs in separate threads from the game logic and can scale to multiple CPU cores.
  • Fully functional staff website to control mutes, bans, trade locks, jailing, and even variable offense types. It also features a full account editor and log viewer, as accounts are stored in the database. Both the server and the website also integrate perfectly with SMF forum accounts.
  • Customized login server to load and save accounts that also integrates with SMF. It also serves as a central hub to allow all the game worlds to communicate with each other; as the server has multiple world support, and the friends list and other data can be shared among worlds. (Which makes future global information, such as Clan Chat data, easy to implement!)

As many of you probably noticed, the entire website and game went down on March 31st 2012 somewhere after 12 PM EST. This was due to a complete DSL outage in my area, so I had no internet until today afternoon, and since the website and login server are run from my house, nothing worked. :P However, everything has been repaired and is now working properly again, and we are seeing if it would be possible to move the forums and login server to a dedicated VPS to avoid this issue in the future. Enjoy the game!

Today we are pleased to announce the result of nearly a years worth of work, our new Zombies minigame.
This is a highly advanced minigame, perhaps the most advanced minigame on any private server. It features an intelligent Zombie Artificial Intelligence system that will challenge the players and destroy individuals if they split from the group, and we hope that it proves to be quiet a challenge to you. Can you defeat the zombie infestation that is a result of The Plague? Find out by logging in today and either talking to the Zombie on the stairs in Lumbridge or typing ::zombies. Enjoy. 8)

The Thieving Skill and a major update to following have been released!

- Rewrote the walking and following system for full clipping for 377, so you can follow people and will move around obstacles!
- Added the beginning of the Thieving skill; pickpocketing now works!
- PkIsland height level has been extended to 4.

Our main file server that serves almost all of the files for all of our clients has just gone offline; we are currently uploading all of these files to another site and they will be back online soon.

Today we are releasing a few updates to the game for a few different reasons. The first update we would like to announce is a Beta quality release of Herblore! 8) The reason why we are making a beta is that there are so many different items involved with Herblore, and we need to make sure that all of these items are obtainable in the game, and we have done with for some of the basic ingredients that you need to make potions. Specifically, here is the list of things that we have done:

- Added Vials to ::theshop.
- Added Pestle & Mortar to ::theshop.
- Various Npcs will now drop Herbs.
- You can now fill Vials/Bowls/Buckets from water sources.
- Added ::cave training area to obtain Limpwurt roots.
- Unicorns now drop unicorn horns.
- Added ::ardy to teleport to Ardougne and added a Baker there that sells chocolate bars.

So we hope that you will enjoy the beta version of this skill! ;)



In other news... We have also added some items to the Donators shop. First, we have created a second currency, Red Disks, where 1 Rune Shard is equal to 100 Red Disks. This is because we have added Sharks and Manta Rays to the shop, and we wanted players to get waaaay more then 1 piece of food per shard! So you can exchange between the two currencies through a Banker in the bunker. We have also added a (possibly temporary) Herblore shop to the donator's bunker, and I'll explain why.

Waddie020 (or Waddie0201) donated 13 times to WorldScape in various amounts. Then, he told his credit card company that he did not authorize the payments (which is obviously a lie), so they issued what is called a "chargeback" against me, where they took the money away. Now, since we use PayPal, there is a $20 processing fee for each individual chargeback, so if you do the math, $20*13, that is a total of $260 that I must pay, whether he gets the money he donated back or not. So right now, my PayPal balance is negative, and will continue to go into the negatives as these fees are charged against my account. So basically, I am in debt and do not have any money right now to pay for the VPS for the next month, all because of Waddie020. (Who we have banned.) This is why we have expanded the Donators Shop, as now we have actually lost money because of it and just hope to break even.
