Oh my god lol, I was looking through my poetry notebook and I found an untitled one from November! xD So I thought I'd post it. Funny thing is, I completely forgot about it. xD

------

This boundless rage,
Fills many a page,
And I dare not to hide it.

Those countless days,
Not fraught with pain,
Were solemn and undivided.

Matters that are now sordid,
Matters that I once did not forbid,
Leaves woe at the discovery of this new foe.

These new days,
Leave my mind ablaze,
With thoughts uninvited.

It's time to give up,
The gig's up,
And I dare not to hide it.

-----

I think this was the predecessor to November the Second, to be honest. I dunno. But it was in my poetry notebook. xD

Stories / "The Quest for Power"
February 25, 2010, 12:25:50 AM
Year after year, elite musicians flood to Marshall University in West Virginia. In their quest for music mastery, they annihilate any opposition in their paths, just so they can strive to become better musicians.

Once a year, the high school members of Glenwood’s prestigious band take a trip to Marshall University. There, members of Marshall’s many musical groups pass on their knowledge of music. Along with musical education, attendees of the Marshall Band Festival have many memorable memories. “My favorite memory was having to wait outside for 25 minutes while waiting for Travis to find the humongous yellow macho-van, which he could not see for some reason.” Said Alex Williams, first chair Saxophone from Glenwood High School.

The students from Glenwood that go to Marshall get a very diverse musical experience. They learn how to play different kinds of music, different ways to care for their instruments, and they get to meet new people while doing it. Each member who signs up for the Band Festival gets pre-accepted, but they have to audition for band placement. On the first day, Thursday, Feburary 18th, they go up to audition after school, they don’t find out their results until the next day. “I felt very confident about my audition, I felt that I nailed my scales and audition piece.” Said Alex Williams, the only member of Glenwood’s band to make it into the prestigious John Marshall Band, referred to simply as “first band”. Only three people have made it into the John Marshall Band while Travis Pierce has directed the band, Sara Estep, Tyler Horsely, and now Alex Williams, so it’s a much wanted and greatly respected honor to get accepted into it.

The students have an hour-long bus ride every morning  and every evening to get to Marshall and back, some use the ride as a nap time, yet others do not. Alex Williams said “I played my DS, read my statistics homework, did my Upward Bound work, and did NOT read the Illiad.” On day two, the students  get their results, as mentioned above, Alex Williams made the John Marshall Band, Travis Grant and Meredith Holsinger made the Thundering Herd Band, and Sara Adkins and Ashley Braden made the Marco’s Marauders Band. The last two bands are split evenly from the audtionees that did not make the John Marshall Band.

After the students find out what band they are in, it’s time for practice, practice, and more practice! The bands practiced for “About ten or so hours.” Said Alex Williams when asked. On day two, after they get their audtion results, the students have a morning practice session, a ten-minute break period, then another practice session. After the second practice session, the students get a lunch break, then they go back to have another rehersal session. After all of the practice, the students are weary from all of the work they did that day, so students from Marshall University’s various music groups put on a concert for all of the students from the varied schools from West Virginia, Ohio, and even Kentucky. The musical groups themselves were also varied, there were brass quintets, a wind symphony, and even a rock band! After the show put on by Marshall’s students is over, the members of the Festival Band then go to their “Master Classes”. Master Classes are informative classes for all of the students from each band. Each section gets their own Master Class, percussion, trumpets, clarinets, saxophones, etc. At the master classes, a music major that specializes in the specified sections then teaches the Festival Band attendees various things about their instruments. When the Master Classes are over,  the students then have a dinner break, after the dinner break, the students go back to practice for another hour. When that last session is over, they are free to leave. Glenwood’s students left for Marshall University at 7:30 a.m. that Friday morning, they did not get home until approximately 9:30 p.m. that evening.

On the final day, Glenwood’s band members left at 7:30 a.m. again. When they arrived, they had a morning practice session, followed by a break period. After the break period, they were allowed to leave for a lunch break, after the lunch break, the bands each had a dress rehersal. After the dress rehersal, the bands had time to warm up for the concert. The concert was supposed to start at 4:30 p.m. Marco’s Maruaders played first, displaying a fine mix of music, then the Thundering Herd Band performed, who also had a nice medley of music. After the Thundering Herd Band performed, the John Marshall Band took the stage, they had a wonderful arrangement of complicated music. “My favorite song that we played was ‘Metroplex’.” Said Alex Williams. Metroplex is a song that depicts Manhattan, the first part of it is a slow, powerful fanfare that paints an image of the scyscrapers of New York, the next scene depicts a Jazz Club in underground Manhattan, then finally the last scene depicts a crazy taxi ride through the streets of New York. All in all, it was a very impressive concert. After the concert, the satisfied students left Marshall with fine music filling their heads. They arrived at the school around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. What is Alex Williams’s favorite part about Marshall? He answered “Having the opprotunity to play in larger ensembles than what I can here; and playing more difficult music.”

Divinity,
Our relationship was simplicity,
Annihiliation,
We've effectively turned it into an abberation.

Cold October afternoons,
Devoted to no one but you,
Disrepair,
It seems I'm having an affair with despair.

Fuckk it,
Let's roll,
This is how the story goes.

September,
One of the best times I can remember,
Best of friends,
But sadly, that was destined to end.

You've left a void,
A wish,
A dream,
Now I can't seem to find its seam.

Boundless rage,
It washes over this page,
Honey, you're not a f*cking martyr,
You need to try harder.

I can envision what used to be,
Sadly its presence is no longer comforting,
I finally figured out what you want from me,
Too bad it's never gonna be,
You need a hit from your own personal heroin,
Sorry honey, but your dealer ditched you,
And I obviously cannot fix you.

I wish for our rift to mend,
I wish for your despair to end,
But life sucks,
And you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone else who gives a fuckk.

I love you,
Nothing will change that,
I care,
I wish you'd let me be there.

Fuckk it all,
I'm gonna be strong,
Even if it means I'm in the wrong,
Tana,
Fuckk it all,
This whole situation is just wrong.

This was made without any edits or prior planning. It wasn't made to my usual standards, it wasn't made to entertain anyone, it was made to save myself from doing something rash.

SEATTLE - Three unarmed security guards were following orders last month when they stood by without intervening as a 15-year-old girl was badly beaten in a downtown Seattle bus tunnel. Now the company they work for and government officials say those orders should be revised.

The guards' actions during the brutal attack â€" captured on surveillance video â€" prompted an outcry from Metro Transit and King County authorities, who said they wished the guards had broken up the fight even though they're not supposed to.

"We are very disappointed in what people see in that video," said Metro Transit General Manager Kevin Desmond. "It was absolutely unacceptable."

Police arrived minutes after the attack, and after the group had fled. Investigators tracked down four, including the alleged attacker, and arrested them on Friday and Saturday. The four were all charged with first-degree robbery.

In court papers filed Wednesday against the teen girl accused of attacking the 15-year-old and the three young men accused of stealing her purse, phone and iPod, the victim told authorities she thought the security guards would protect her.

Surveillance video first aired by Seattle's KING-TV this week shows the attack at Westlake Station on Jan. 28. The victim appears several seconds before her attackers and sidles up to the three guards, who are standing together and talking.

When a group of teens and young adults approaches the girl, she appears to seek refuge by moving around to the other side of the guards.

Another 15-year-old girl shoves the victim and begins punching her. The two crash into a wall and then onto the floor. The assailant gets up and kicks and stomps on the girl's head. Others grab her purse, iPod and cell phone.

The guards, who have standing orders to "observe and report," called police.

The victim told a King County sheriff's detective that the group followed her from a nearby department store into the bus tunnel at Westlake Station on Jan. 28, and she deliberately stood next to the three guards.

'They didn't know'
At the department store, two Seattle police officers noticed the escalating situation and kicked the group out of the Macy's, then brought the girl and her friend to another exit, the victim said. She reported that she asked the officers for an escort to the bus tunnel, just below the department store, but the officers refused.

"Had these officers known what was to transpire, they probably would have paid for a cab for this victim to be taken safely to her home, but they didn't know. They broke up a couple of disturbances and provided the victim an opportunity to leave the area via bus," said Sgt. Sean Whitcomb, a Seattle police spokesman.

One of the defendants, 18-year-old Dominique Whitaker, told detectives that earlier in the evening the victim had pepper-sprayed another person in the group.

The 15-year-old, who reported that she lost consciousness during the attack, was not hospitalized but did see a doctor.

King County Sheriff's Sgt. John Urquhart said the guards were right to follow their training.

"If you're a bank teller and you do something other than give them the money, you're going to get fired," Urquhart said. "We don't expect civilians to take police action. In this case, it was a violent fight, and they were outnumbered by this pack of people 3-to-1."

Metro Transit contracts with the King County Sheriff's Office for 68 police officers, and supplements that force with civilian guards provided by Olympic Security Services Inc. of Tukwila, Wash. All three of the guards involved are Olympic employees.

The guards' duties include helping customers and reporting suspicious objects, disruptive behavior and equipment problems.

Olympic Security President Mark Vinson did not immediately return calls seeking comment Wednesday. Desmond said he has been in close contact with the company, and its executives were disappointed in the response of the guards.

'Reputation to keep'
Olympic Security is working up a proposed contract revision that could include additional training and new guidelines on how and when guards should intervene, Desmond said.

"They are highly motivated to make changes very quickly," Desmond said. "I am motivating them, and they have a reputation to keep."

Other options include hiring armed guards.

Unarmed guards could put themselves and others at risk if they intervene in certain situations. But this incident was largely a fight between two teenage girls, and there does not appear to be any indication that the larger group would have become involved if the guards broke it up, Desmond said.

"If I was there on the platform I don't know that I would have stood there," he said. "It's their job to be down there. The people at Olympic Security had the same human response: 'Why didn't we step in to protect the girl on the ground?'"

The girl charged with being the primary attacker faces up to 2½ years in juvenile detention if convicted. Whitaker and Latroy D. Hayman, 20, each face a sentence of 31 to 41 months in prison if convicted, and the third adult defendant, Tyrone J. Watson, 18, could face a sentence of 36 to 48 months in prison.

It was not immediately clear if any had obtained lawyers.

---

What's your guys' opinions on this issue? I personally think they should have at least stepped in to help the girl.

Despair,
It taints the air,
No matter the flair,
Of your eyes' lovely fanfare.

He's strong,
I'm weak,
Why could it not have been I,
Who's interest you've tweaked?

I've given up,
It's way too tough,
Sadly I know,
When enough is enough.

Tears run red,
Blood runs clear,
I've realized I can't have you,
What more is there to fear?

My vision goes red,
When I envision his head,
Why did he have to take one so dear,
Especially since she was so near?

You wrote the cadence of my heart,
My blood pitifully flows,
I'm sad and she knows,
My mind is wrenched from the dream,
The dream where your face is my morning's first beam.

I concede defeat,
I'm miniscule, obsolete,
But only in your eyes,
And for that I break down and cry.

I've awaken from the dream,
In which you and I were a team,
Now it's Hell, a nightmare,
It's Hell, all because he's here.

There's too much testosterone,
But she still manages to call him her own,
Why can't she see,
The pain she's caused me?

Cold afternoons,
Spent in her caress,
The sight of her,
Makes me lose my breath.

Her words indicate something,
Despair, disrepair,
Yet her words are mending,
Care, maybe something's there?

Her eyes want to infatuate,
Yet her words want to obliterate,
Is it just an unkind fate,
Who's left me filled with this confused hate?

Confusion unending,
My will is bending,
Our relationship is ending,
My wounds will not be mending.

You're gone,
I need to move on,
The candle burns,
Even though the flame's gone.

In the forest that is my mind,
You were the brightest thing I could find,
You were more than divine,
But I know you cannot be mine.

I'm running out of time,
In ten days' time,
You'll be spoiled,
Forever not mine.

I can win,
If those ten days elapse,
Without my collapse,
The end will not seem so grim.

I have come to ascertain,
The root of my pain,
It was my procrastination,
That has started this abomination.

Denile,
The image of you two is vile,
It produces bile,
My attempts are completely futile.

Aspire,
Believe,
Collapse,
Dream,
This seems to be my new regime.

Crucial mistakes,
Are what set my pace,
I've already fallen behind.

You've chosen your path,
You've forgotten your past,
You leave me behind,
To follow as if blind.

Unspoken thoughts,
Left in my head to rot,
Have started a blaze,
To get back in your gaze.

The spark,
The dark,
Will I win your gaze,
Or fall back into the haze?

Today I've set my mind,
I'll try to make you mine,
No matter how much I've fallen behind,
I'll try,
Even if you'll never be mine.

I will fight the despair,
This suffocating with no air,
Your presence takes me unaware,
Filling the air with my despair,
Leaving my heart in a state of disrepair.

He is mighty,
I'm unsightly,
I'll try to prevail,
Even if I'm destined to fail.

Today's the day my mind has been filled,
Of plans gone ill,
Of thoughts distilled.

Your presence beckons,
On November the Second.

Guess what guys? Today I got into a car accident!

Right... I was on my way home from Daniel's house, Rickey was in the passenger seat.

We were going down the highway between New Boston and Sciotoville, it was raining.

A wreck happened a few yards down the road, a cop behind me sped up and cut me off, so he could check on the wreck.

The bad thing was, when he cut me off I had to slam the brakes, making my truck hydroplane. Since I was hydroplaning, the car behind me didn't see the brake lights, rear-ending me, making me hit the sheriff's car right ahead of me.

Luckily for him, he didn't get out of the car to check on the first wreck yet, so he was still in it when I collided with him. My head went through the truck's back window, it's a one-seater Chevy. If he was maybe ten seconds quicker at getting out of the car, he'd have gotten killed.

I spent the past six hours at the hospital, Rickey didn't take any injuries. I have a mild concussion and my back is pretty fucked atm. My injuries were the worst, though the sheriff's could have been fatal.

I don't wanna drive in the rain ever again...

How long am I going to hate you?
I don't hate you,
I'm tired,
Tired of you.

I do not want to start?
What don't I want to start,
A fire,
A blaze,
A relationship that won't fall apart?

You said you were sorry for what you put me through, you're not with that whore?
You don't know what you put me through,
A christmas without a dad,
I've never seen a 14 year old so sad,
You're not with that whore,
That's great,
Too bad you're not with me anymore.

Think whatever I want?
You don't care what I think,
You don't care what I want,
What's my favorite color?
What do I want?
Maroon,
A father figure,
You didn't know either, and that's not something to flaunt.

Goodbye?
But why,
Why, oh, why,
Would my father tell me goodbye?
I'm not about to die,
I haven't been caught in a lie,
Why the hell are you saying goodbye?

I can forget about you?
Too bad,
So sad,
Not after the hell you put me through.

I'm not trying?
How am I not trying,
I'm crying,
You were my father,
But you just seemed to get farther,
My hatred burned hotter,
Why don't you be a real father?

You don't care?
How can you not care,
You've been trying for two years,
You've been crawling behind me,
Shouting,
Lying,
Crying,
Not trying,
How can you try,
If you don't give a damnn?

You put me through hell,
That's something you did well,
I won't forget,
I won't forgive,
I hope you won't forget,
Because I'll remember you for as long as I live.

No chance when you're around,
But that's fine,
Life isn't life without you around.

I'll take this loss with a smile,
Hurting all the while,
Fighting back the denile.

This day seemed great,
Sunny,
We didn't procrastinate.

But a bitter chill swept the air,
A chill that had nothing to do with the wind,
A bitter wind that meant I could not win,
There's no chance for me to win, not if I want you as a friend.

So I'll take this loss with a smile,
Fighting back the bile,
Holding your gaze,
Trecking on,
No care how long the mile.

I'll treck on,
Tasting the bitter taste of defeat,
Giving her up was no small feat.

Special thanks to Con1887 for helping me past a bit of Writer's Block! He helped me with a rhyme I had issues with. :D
