What's with alot of the old staff being demoted? O.O

Well... I'm just wondering but why was Mod Elias demoted? So is Mod Wayne, and Mod James... It feels weird without them being staff because they're such icons of the staff position they once filled.

Elias resigned, and as for other staff members I believe there were demoted for inactivity or other reasons.
