Can you have live on arcade?

Hey, I'm planning on getting Xbox Live and i wonder if you can have that one Xbox Arcade? Xbox arcade is basically the cheapest and worst xbox, and i don't know if i can have a internet connection on it. I googled but didn't find anything :P
