Grave Digging - Rule Update

For the past few weeks there has been an uprise of people posting in very old, dead topics. Since this problem seems to be getting worse there will be an update to the rules.

Grave Digging: Topics that are more than 60 days old are considered to be dead. If you post on a dead thread it will be treated as spam and you will recieve a warning or a larger punishment if it persists.

Times when it is OK to grave dig:

• Posting on a clan topic (as long as the clan is not dead)
• Some stickies (most stickies are there to inform you, not so you can spam them)
• Topics in the "Forum Games" board

If you post on anything else that is not listed here will be considered spam, unless stated otherwise.

Remember to look when the topic was last posted on!

If they post on their own topic and it is more than 60 days old then yes it would.

What if it is a sticky topic, I'm sure thats acceptable right?

If it's appropriate, such as a post about a rule or an update, it would be acceptable. But in 60 days if someone posts on a topic like this one, http://www.worldscapeblitz.com/blitz/smf/index.php/topic,2865.0.html, then I would probably treat that as spam.

As long as the clan is not dead it will be ok. I will add a list of times when it would be ok to post on an old topic.

What is hard to understand? Just make sure the topic is less then 60 days old. And there is a program that can auto lock topics, but I'm not sure if it works with the current version of SMF.

If the topic hasn't been posted on in 60 days, your account will get a warning.

Would it be okay if a topic was say 70 days old and the topic starter just went blank about it and wanted to get that thread back up, would this be gave-digging or would they need to create a new thread?

you guys, it gives you a message when its 60 days old so dont worry, it informs you when its 60 and 120

But even when it tells you that it's an old topic, some people still post on it.

maybe if possible the topics should auto lock when they reach the 60 days? if it's possible.
